New Quiet Policy in Effect

Atherton Library has implemented a new Quiet Policy as part of our efforts to create a more appealing environment for research and study.

We ask that you lower your voice upon entering the library and refrain from using your cell phone while inside. Library staff will actively enforce this policy and will request that you lower your voice when necessary. Please take ALL cell phone calls outside. Repeat offenders will be asked to leave the library.

This new policy has been implemented at the request of your fellow students. Comments in our recent Library Survey indicated that the noise level in our library was not appropriate for the studying habits of many students. We ask for your cooperation as we strive to make your library a more inviting place for all.

New Atherton Library Quiet Policy
  1. Lower your voice upon entering the library
  2. Silence your cell phone and take all calls outside the library
  3. Lower the volume on your iPod or other portable music device
Please send your comments to athlib@hpu.edu
